Beirut May Be Down, But Not Out

SCOPE blogger K C expressed some concern over Beirut's recent Euro-cancellation, hinting at internal issues. But it seems, much to our relief, that Zach Condon and company are still functioning well as a team. Beirut performed a somewhat last minute show in Brooklyn, NY last night, to much fan acclaim. It also looks like the band played a couple "kick ass new songs." Good things. You can head HERE for more pics. Check out the show's setlist below.

Edit: Stereogum has posted (after us...booyah [although we took it from BrooklynVegan]) on this same event and reports that the new songs are heavy on the Spanish/Portuguese influence, which seems like the next logical step after Zach's domination of the Balkan and French sounds.

Nice!

I'm just upset I won't get to see them in Europe :(

Glad to hear they are still doing well, and making new stuff though! Are there any links to the new songs? I'd really like to hear them.
