New Albert Hammond Jr.

I loved the first two Strokes albums. So I somewhat naturally really really enjoyed Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.'s first solo album. Now, as is my custom, I'm getting over-hyped about his forthcoming album based on the strength of one song. That song is "GfC," and I love it. Stream it HERE (scroll down past the "popular music videos" section to the "featured songs" section). The track starts out with a gently purposeful little guitar fill which is followed by light drums and a sly little bass line, and Albert's quick little "Oh!"s let you know when the business starts. Albert seems to be coming into his own as a singer on this track too. Give it a listen, and tell me your name (that last part was an inside joke to Spanish speakers/readers, as the albums title will be Como Te Llama).
