New Stills: "Being Here"

I feel like the Stills get knocked on a regular basis, often being pegged as a sadder Canadian version of the Strokes. I never heard it. Their debut album, Logic Will Break Your Heart, is one of my favorite albums of all time (I have a lot of albums in that category, but still). Perhaps in response to some of the criticisms, the band decided pulled a 180 on their sophomore release, Without Feathers, which was a little less downtrodden, a bit more uplifting, with lots of major chords, horns, and keys. The album had more than a few strong moments. Now, it seems with their upcoming third album, Oceans Will Rise, they're going yet another direction, perhaps somewhere in between the two. I dunno. What I've heard leads me to believe I'll need to hear the whole thing all the way through before I can make any real judgments. HOWEVER, this song right here, this song is downright anthemic. Although some of the guitars in the chorus border that U2/arena-sound cliche, the Stills manage to pull it off. Get in the car, roll them windows down, wait for the chorus, and enjoy.
