While serving an obscene amount of smoothies to all of Lake County on this muggy Memorial Day, I heard something that peaked my interest. My co-worker Justin had his IPod on and the joyful sounds that were issuing through the speakers just made my day suck a little less. As I cleaned out a bit of raspberry that happened to get in my ear (don't ask me how) to hear better, Justin informed me that the band we were currently listening to was a seven piece band from Wales called Los Campesinos! Oh. My. God. I fell in love. They are perfect. They're quirky but yet could draw in listeners by hearing just a few seconds of a song. If you haven't heard of them yet, I suggest you take a listen. They make me want to dance in the ridiculous fashion that all of SCOPE has already witnessed on multiple occasions. Here is the video to their song "My Year In Lists". Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

That was glorious! Love the video too!
I knew you were going to like it Kelsey! I thought of you when I heard it. : )
do you really think they are any good...like, really...
well obviously. otherwise i wouldn't have posted about them.
i dig em too. i don't think they are unbelievable, but i think the album ("hold on now, youngster...") is a great little indie punk/twee-ish gem. just what i want from this sort of music. great balancing of chants and shouts and boy/girl vocals and guitars and twinkling bells.
for me the dueling vocals are a bit much. not that it isn't good but i can't seem to grab on to any of the hooks.
