Summer is approaching, which means it's time for a million tours and endless music festivals to go to and love your life at over the holidays.
Just months after releasing that this amazing side project even exists, Broken Bells (James Mercer from The Shins, and Danger Mouse) are off on a national tour this summer. They just recently had a few performances at SXSW music festival which a few of our SCOPErs had the pleasure of seeing. The super team of these two talented musicians will start in California in May and make their way across the country. Opening for them is a great band called the Morning Benders, whose new album Big Echo has received fabulous responses from multiple reviewers. Towards the end of July, The Morning Benders are lucky enough to play with Broken Bells, while also simultaneously headlining their own shows. Their tour ends in Central Park with the legendary Black Keys, who are playing a sold out show here in Iowa City tomorrow.
For the full roster of both sections of the tour check out the Pitchfork article.
