To live in this town you must be tough, tough, tough, tough, tough!

In 1978, The Rolling Stones released "Shattered," their sort of ode to, sort of social commentary on New York City. For whatever reason, the song's juxtaposition of dark, critical lyrics and an upbeat melody perfectly describe what it's been like living here for the past three months and what it feels like to be leaving in a week.

And just for the record, I live on the west side and uptown so that crack about rats and bed bugs, respectively, hits a little too close to home, thankyouverymuch Mr. Jagger. Here's a clip from Shine A Light, the band's recently release concert DVD. (It should go without saying that I recommend buying or renting this movie as soon as you possibly can.)
