I Could Be With Anyone

At first I thought this song was about how Kevin Devine was a musician, how he could be with any girl at his show, and how it was unfulfilling.

Then I thought it was about the idea of how you could be with anyone but you chose to be with your significant other and that made it more special.

Not sure where I stand now but I love the video...except for the beatbox intro thing.

E-603

Remember the opener for The Cool Kids? (AKA Sam's look alike) Well he has released his second cd Torn Up and it's getting quite a bit of attention on hypemachine. Haven't listened all the way through yet but I miss Girl Talk enough to make this a substitute for the summer.

Pay what you want here

edit: Limp Bizkit samples, Get you freak on mixed with Ratatat, Vanessa Carlton white houses, What would you do if your son was at home?, Jackson 5 Abc mixed with my drink and my two step, Down with the sickness, and I'm only about halfway through. Either I'm just a sucker for the samples or this is really good.

edit 2: Lady Gaga Just Dance set against MGMT's Kids.

3 Weeks till 80/35!

There is nothing better then being outdoors, enjoying the weather and some great tunes during the summer. While there are summer festivals all around the country, few have as many good bands at a low price like 80/35. They did a great job of nabbing some fantastic acts for the festival July 3-4, including great summer bands, such as (one of my favorites) G. Love and Special Sauce. The full lineup, including Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, Public Enemy, Tilly and the Wall, Broken Social Scene, and Matisyahu, can be seen here.

Ben Harper and Relentless7 - Shimmer and Shine
G. Love and Special Sauce - Soft and Sweet
(Yes, apparenty I'm into songs titled S___ and S___...?)

SCOPE announces The Temptations for FREE Homecoming Show!

SCOPE Productions has the pleasure of announcing that THE TEMPTATIONS will be performing for the 2009 Homecoming show on the Pentacrest Lawn, Friday, September 26th following the Homecoming parade. This show will be FREE and open to the public. Another youth oriented artist will be announced later in the summer.

For more than 40 years The Temptations have prospered, propelling popular music with a series of smash hits and sold-out performances around the world. In the midst of their success, The Temptations played at The University of Iowa on April 6, 1974, and after thirty years they’re back! Famous for their rhythm & blues as well as contemporary pop music, the Motown Machine produced hits like: “The Way You Do the Things You Do”, “My Girl”, “Just My Imagination”, “I Can’t Get Next To You”, “Papa Was A Rolling Stone”, “Treat Her Like A Lady”, and “Stay”.

Thanks to their fine-tuned choreography, and even finer harmonies, The Temptations became the definitive male vocal group of the 1960s and one of Motown's most unique acts. The current lineup of Otis Williams, Terry Weeks, G.C. Cameron, Ron Tyson, and Joe Herndon moved forward in the next generation capturing a Grammy in 2000 for their latest album Ear Resistible; The Temptations remain a vital, hit making group.

I would change for you, but that doesn't mean I'll be a better man

The National/St. Vincent - Sleep All Summer (Crooked Fingers cover)

I don't know who the Crooked Fingers are but I have to think this cover does them justice. Beautiful, Beautiful song. I love music.

Thanks to captain obvious for compiling a ridiculous amount of covers that I'm into.

A day late and a dollar short.

Thanks to CB Shawty and Michael J. "Fox" Rome for this "day late and a dollar short". Kind of behind the curve on Phoenix but their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix has been my go to summer album (When I'm not listening to Passion Pit's jam Little Secrets).
